Why sleep well?

Lack of quality sleep is devastating for our health.

Did you know that while you can last weeks without food, days without water, after more than 1 day without sleep you will be completely exhausted, unable to do anything?

Quality sleep = regeneration of your muscles, joints, but also the entire circulatory system
and heart.

Did you know that lack of quality sleep worsens blood pressure problems? And vice versa – does quality sleep help prevent these problems?

Preventing drastic sleep disorders

Did you know that sleep apnea, as one of the most common sleep disorders, brings such problems that you will no longer be able to lead a normal life (for example, you will not be able to hold a driver´s license).

We want to be efficient.

Have you ever seen the extraordinary performances of a tired and sleep-deprived person? We all know how our inattentiveness increases without quality sleep…

We want to be satisfied and happy

Have you ever seen a happy sleep deprived person? Have you noticed that when someone is in a bad mood, the first thing we ask them is if they had a bad night´s sleep?

What does it mean to sleep well?

Sleep a reasonable amount of time

  • There is no universal guide
  • It´s different at every age
  • Each of us has different needs
  • It is true that everyone knows what they need and we should not satisfy this need for a long time

Sleep peacefully

  • Frequent movements, rolling over is not healthy
  • A typical problem is a mattress that is too hard, which does not let us rest
  • Another problem is an unsuitable environment for sleep (too much light, noise, etc.)

Sleep deeply

  • Superficial sleep does not let us rest
  • Especially our heart and circulatory system rest only in deep sleep

How to ensure quality sleep?

How to choose the right mattress?

In order to answer this question correctly and thereby ensure quality and comfortable sleep, several questions need to be answered. This allows you to pre-select the type of mattress that should suit you according to various criteria. However, it is also important to try the mattress in the store in order to check your pre-selection and at the same time get advice from trained assistants who know all the information you need about mattresses. It´s better to spend a few minutes trying it on in the store than to not sleep well at night.

Here are questions to help you choose.

1. Age

For children and young people, we recommend harder mattresses without memory foam or only a low layer. There is no need to skimp on quality, children spend more hours on the mattress than adults, often with their faces buried in the mattress, so it is important what the mattress is made of. We recommend cold foams, water-based foams or natural materials. A medium-firm mattress is suitable for middle-aged people, preferably with the option of varying firmness on each side. Even at this age, sufficient support is needed when lying down and rolling over, but we also need to think about greater comfort. A combination of several foams, preferably cold and memory foam in different heights, is suitable here. For older people and seniors, it is advisable to add softness. This is mainly because at this age there is already wear and tear on the joints and, especially when lying on the side, pressure can arise, causing even pain after staying in one position for a long time. This can
be prevented with anti-decubitus material, which is memory foam, which can eliminate
pressure.

2. Sleeping position

When sleeping on your back, a firmer mattress is suitable, which will provide you with support and allow you to stretch out. With increasing age, it is advisable to gently add softening, so that there is no pressure in the pelvic area or tension in the sacral part of the spine. When sleeping on your side, a softer mattress is more suitable, which adapts to the curves of the body, especially in the shoulder and hip area. When changing positions, it is necessary to find a compromise in order to achieve sufficient support necessary for turning, but so that the mattress is also comfortable enough for you. Here, a type of mattress that has a different firmness on each side is highly recommended, so you can adjust the softness to your needs.

3. Health status

For quality sleep, it is necessary to choose a mattress that takes your health into account. In general, stiffer mattresses are suitable for spine problems, and softer ones for joint problems. However, it is not recommended to choose extremely hard or extremely soft, so as not to harm another part of the body while satisfying one health problem. For athletes or people with spine problems, there are also special mattresses that help the body regenerate during sleep. From our offer, it is the DNA mattress, which uses the registered technology of DNA® foam springs.

4. Stiffness

The stiffness suitable for you was partially determined by the answers to the previous questions, but we will repeat them here as well. Soft stiffness – suitable for seniors, people with low weight, women and men with more pronounced hips or shoulders. Medium stiffness – suitable for middle-aged people who like comfort and do not have serious health problems. Stiffness medium stiff – suitable for younger people or middle-aged people who prefer firmer support. Also suitable for people with spine problems. Rigid firmness – suitable for children, young people, people with higher weight and people who sleep exclusively on their backs.

5. Price

We do not recommend cheap mattresses, as the low price always comes at the expense of quality and health suitability. However, you can choose models that are reasonably priced and the quality is still very high. You can also invest in health and support the regeneration of the spine. Or you can treat yourself to luxury and exceptional materials such as cashmere, camel wool, horsehair, linen and enjoy the sweet sleep you deserve.

The most frequently asked questions

1. Which mattress is better spring or foam?

It is individual. Foam mattresses are generally the best sellers as they suit most users. They are suitable as health mattresses, for allergy sufferers, for people with spine diseases and also for children. In addition, they can be used on any base – slatted, solid grid or on a box spring base. They are also not suitable for people who need firmer support for their spine.

On the contrary, they know how to provide comfort to people who need a softer mattress. They can be placed on fixed grids and box spring bases.

2. Does choosing a mattress depend on age?

Yes, age is an important factor in choosing the right mattress for you. Children who are still growing need a firmer mattress so that they can properly stretch out on the mattress. In middle age, medium stiffness is best with a certain, preferably variable, layer of memory foam, with which you can achieve that softness, or you adjust the stiffness yourself.

As we age, it is necessary to relieve the pressure on the hip and shoulder joints, so we choose a softer mattress, on which it will still be possible to change the position without problems.

3. Is weight an important factor in the selection?

Lighter people need softer mattresses because they will not be burdened with as much weight as heavier people. Therefore, it is good to choose a firmer mattress with increasing weight. If the partners are very different in weight, it is advisable to consider a different mattress for each of them.

4. Does the choice of mattress depend on the position in which I sleep?

When sleeping on your side, a softer mattress is suitable, a pocket-sized mattress or one with a higher layer of memory foam may also be suitable, so that the curves of the body sink more into the mattress and thus align your spine. Conversely, a more supportive, stiffer mattress is more suitable for people sleeping on their backs. If you change positions often, it may be a sign that the mattress you are lying on does not suit you and therefore forces your
body to constantly change positions.

5. Do allergies affect the choice of mattress?

Pocket or spring mattresses are unsuitable for allergy sufferers. The movement of the springs causes the threshold to swirl in the mattress, which can have an adverse effect on your allergy. That´s why we recommend foam mattresses with washable covers for allergy sufferers, and it great to get a mattress protector when you buy a mattress, which you can
wash at up to 90 degrees.
